If you want to hunt for something in particular on the giant cyber-library known
as the World Wide Web, try one of these search engines. They are very simple
to use, and will send you 'round the world to Internet sites of all kinds!

INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES
Google
A keyword search engine...
Ask.com
Ask as sentence...
Alta Vista: Home Page Finder:
Enter +"your keyword or words like this" +"another keyword or
words like this" etc. The more keywords the more focused the search; but remember, it can
also be over done.
WebCrawler:
A keyword search engine. It has a subject index, too.
Excite:
A keyword search engine with a subject index...
Lycos:
Yahoo:
This engine doesn't seem to do as well with keyword
searching; however, Yahoo has a very nifty subject index, organized by categories
in a heirarchial pattern.
Yahooligans:
A Web guide for kids...
MULTI-SEARCH ENGINE TOOLS
Dogpile: A Multi-Engine Search Tool:
Yahoo!, Lycos' A2Z, Excite Guide, Go2.com, WWW Yellow Pages, PlanetSearch,
Thunderstone, What U Seek, Magellan, Lycos, WebCrawler, InfoSeek, AltaVista, Excite & HotBot.
MetaCrawler:
A multi-engine search tool similar to Dogpile...
NEWSGROUPS
Google Groups
Gain information from newsgroups
Virtual Software Library's FTP File Finder:
Use this to find those files you've been looking for via FTP! You type in the
filename (or part of it, using wildcards) and it will show you all the FTP sites containing
that file.
